The San Francisco Chapter is working on its first-ever project, and they’ve selected the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital as their project partner! The goal is to raise $5,000 to provide special activities for the hospital’s Music Therapy program, which provides a creative and therapeutic outlet for children who are hospitalized due to serious illness. For a kid, the hospital environment can be everything from terrifying and depressing to simply boring!
The DFB funding will give these brave children a way to make it better, by covering the costs for 12 music therapy group sessions, six sessions in the outpatient dialysis unit, and six open studio music sessions (when children can explore music and various instruments on their own). Additionally, 50 young patients will receive individualized music therapy sessions at their bedsides.

Our event in San Francisco in November raised susbstantial portion of what's needed for this grant, but we need your help to close the gap. Please consider making a direct donation to the project here.
